Celtic Woman has announced the passing of Chairman and CEO Dave Kavanagh.

Hot Press .com is reporting he had cancer in recent years. Sad

I think he had been fighting cancer for the better part of a decade.

He hung on for a long time, continuing to bring us music through Celtic Woman, his great legacy.

The world has lost a great visionary and by the accounts of those who had the privilege of meeting him, a great person.

He no doubt played a large role in Mairead's career and either directly or indirectly, touched the lives of many people.

Rest well, sir ... and thank you.

May he rest in peace. The world would not be the same without Celtic Woman.
