Devil's Bit Sessions is an album that Máiréad recorded with her family. It was recorded in 2016 in addition to Hibernia.

According to the Máiréad's Christmas newsletter, the album is tentatively scheduled for release some time in spring of 2017!

Mairead mentioned May as a possible release timeframe for the album in her live Facebook video today. Looking forward to it!

I'm so very excited that the Irish Music (magazine) cover and article on our family album Devil's Bit Sessions is out today online and hard copies will hit the shops on Friday! Here's a little preview of some amazing photos of our weekend of music taken by Nejc Rudel at home in Tipperary ahead of our PledgeMusic campaign which kicks off on March 16th! We will all treasure this and we can't wait for you to hear the very first tracks of us all playing together as a family in our home and to see all the incredible footage and photos from Nejc also!
See you March 16th on PledgeMusic for pre-orders and your exclusive look at footage recordings, behind the scenes, going around beautiful Tipperary & up the Devils Bit Mountain! Oh the fun!! We release in May on Celtic Café Amazon.com iTunes

Key points:
  • Mairead's family album Devil's Bit Sessions was featured in Irish Music magazine.

Very anxious for this one. I just need some paying work before I can pick up the next round of CDs. I also plan to get the latest CW one, and the new Orla one.

The official release date is tomorrow (June 30th, 2017).

Here's an article in Irish Music Magazine that Mairead shared with us today. It has a good review of the album:
http://www.irishmusicmagazine.com/releases/releases-august-2017/

I've taken the liberty of updating Mairead's Wikipedia page with some notes about Devil's Bit Sessions. I'm planning to make a separate Wikipedia page for the album as I normally do, but I'm waiting until I get the physical liner notes so I can have as much substance and detail in the initial draft as possible. One must be very careful publishing things on Wikipedia. If things aren't perfectly formatted, cross-sourced (and for lack of a better way of putting it, deemed 'significant and sufficiently noteworthy' of being published on Wikipedia), one may be subject to a harsh scolding by the Wikipedia auditors and the article and one's authoring rights might get revoked. I'm hoping some more articles or published reviews get posted as that strengthens my arguments when the auditors come knocking at my metaphorical door.

Has anyone gotten their physical cds yet? I was going through my emails and foud the receipt from pledge and I had forgotten I had ordered a cd as well as the download? The site says orders should have been fulfilled by June 30 but I never received a shipment email.

I haven't received mine yet, but it always takes a really long time to ship things to Canada.

I got a shipment email on July 11. I did not check the tracking until just now but the tracking number with DHL says it was shipped on July 3 and delivered on July 8 but to my old address. I only just changed my address on the 6th when I remembered about the CD. When shipment email had my new address as the one it was sent to but since the cd was delivered several days before I got the email I am not sure what to do.
